New Order in the Global Monetary and Financial System - From Seoul to Cannes
2F, Orchid Room, The Westin Chosun Hotel
- Time :09:00~15:45
Program
Since the 2008 global financial crisis, the G20 summit has been the best forum for discussing the new order in international financial markets and the new international currency scheme. This year`s G20 summit is even more significant because the recent eurozone fiscal crisis and the slow US economic recovery require the G20 to call for global coordination and renew the agenda discussed in Seoul last year.Against the backdrop, Korea Capital Market Institute (KCMI) will co-host an international conference with the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE), the world-renowned research institute for international economic policy. Dr. Edwin Truman and Dr. Morris Goldstein of the PIIE, who are experts in this area, will speak at the conference and discuss the changes in the global financial and currency system. Also, discussions will center on the G20 financial market issues from the perspective of Korea, a chair country of the G20 emerging market task force. This conference is sponsored by The Chosun Ilbo and will be held one week ahead of the G20 summit in Cannes. The event will be the venue for in-depth discussions about important G20 finance issues such as the new international financial order and international currency scheme. We ask for active participation by all who have an interest in these subjects.
